Boost Energy Levels Without Even Breaking A Sweat!

Have you ever wondered whether you always need to work (and sweat) hard to feel a rush of energy?

Of course for many people this is the method by which they always achieve an increase in energy and it is certainly a valid one.

However what about those people who don?t want to (or can?t) spend forty-five minutes or more working up a sweat the ?traditional? way? What about the older person who isn?t physically able to generate a sweat by running, using a cross trainer, or riding a bike?

More importantly, do they need to?

I would argue that they do not. Not everything revolves around impactive exercises for forty-five minutes to an hour. The physical aspect is only part of the equation anyway. Many people forget that what you think about can create massive changes in how you feel.

For the older person looking to increase their energy and health they often cannot handle what some might term a normal exercise regime and require a different approach.

What might this different approach involve though?

Have a look below at the following little used ideas that can increase energy without breaking a sweat!

? When you rise in the morning do something physical straight away. Do some leg raises, swing your arms in big circles past your ears, breathe deeply near an open window, the list could go on! Believe me, you will want to go forward into your day with energy and purpose having done this.

? When your day offers you the opportunity (lunch, and fifteen minute, breaks for instance) use it to get your body moving and your energy levels pumped up once more. A brisk ten-minute walk with an emphasis on deep breathing can elevate energy levels without you having to spend an hour training. Remember though, to create and have energy you have to use it as well! Break (or any spare) time does not have to be spent sat on your behind!

? Relax! Pointless everyday tension wastes massive amounts of energy. Want to increase yours? Then as you go through your day use only the minimum amount of energy for tasks like opening doors, cleaning teeth, driving your car and while writing, typing and pretty much any activity you routinely perform each day.

? Have you ever tried programming yourself just before sleep to feel energised when you wake in the morning? I would suggest you try it. Tell yourself you will wake up full of purpose and energy. Give yourself a goal to wake up for no matter how small and this will help you on your way to increases in energy also.

? While performing everyday movements try adding just a little more vigour into the mix. Walking is an obvious example. Swing your arms that little bit more, breathe a little deeper, push off your feet a little more firmly. Such small easy to implement actions can elevate the pulse rate a little more than normal and act as a great natural energiser.

Keep these points in mind if your goal is generation (and conservation) of energy levels without having to sweat your way there.

Remember without energy life cannot be lived to its fullest so follow these points if you feel you are over-training and need time to recharge or if you simply wish to add some energy into a currently sedentary existence.

Is Your Food Aging You?

Did you know that the food you eat could be prematurely ageing you? Science has made some amazing discoveries in the last decade in nutrition. We really should be taking note of what we put in our mouth because more than ever, we are what we eat. Do you know the impact of what you are eating? Probably not. It's time to find out because over-indulgence in certain types of food cause the body to prematurely age.

Would you like some more free radicals with your lunch...? There is frequent mention these days about 'free radicals' and how they are constantly attacking the body, causing potentially serious damage.

A free radical is the name for a molecule that has an unpaired electron. They are a normal by-product of metabolism and without them you would die.

To put the record straight, it's the over-production of free radicals that causes damage to the body. We are advised by nutritional experts to eat plenty of fruit and vegetables.

This is because they are rich in antioxidant phytonutrients...substances that neutralise free radicals and so help protect the body.

One of the essential tasks of free radicals is in producing energy from the food you eat. Every time you eat, free radical activity is intense. The more food you eat, the more free radicals are formed, and the more antioxidants your body needs to neutralise them. Big meals are big trouble!

Effective Antioxidants include vitamins A, C, E; minerals such as selenium, zinc, and herbs such as aloe vera and grapeseed extract.

The Reality of Carbohydrates

Carbohydrates are root vegetables, pasta, rice, bread, grains, fruit, pastries, cakes, biscuits, crisps, sweets etc. They are easy to prepare, filling, tasty and cheap. Most meals are dominated by carbohydrates, as most of us 'full up' on them. When you eat carbohydrates you're eating a form of sugar.

Carbohydrates are converted by the body into glucose, which is either used immediately for energy, or stored in fat cells. Carbohydrates make up an excessive proportion of the diet, add together a lack of exercise and excess sugar and the inevitable result is excess weight.

By reducing your overall carbohydrate intake and reducing the size of your meals, you reduce your body's exposure to free radical activity, and, the amount of excess food that meals, you reduce your body's exposure to free radical activity, and, the amount of excess food that gets stored as unwanted fat. A double bonus!

Big meals are too much stress

Food is in abundance - look around the supermarket shelves at the food mountain! Fill your trolley, take it home and fill your kitchen cupboards - fill your plate and fill your stomach till you can barely move. How many times a week do you overeat? How many free radicals are attacking your body and accelerating the aging process? You could choose to eat less.

Think about your meals over the last week.

Better still, keep a food diary for the next week, record each meal by drawing a plate divided up showing how much protein, carbohydrate, fat, vegetables and fruit you eat at each meal/snack. After a week you'll be able to see for yourself how much sugar you are eating.

New Depression and Anxiety Info: The Epidemic of AntiDepressants

There is an epidemic in society today of people who are taking anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medications to survive their emotional and psychological pain. Doctors, psychologists, and psychotherapists regularly recommend long-term medication to deal with depression, anxiety, and dysfunctional family issues, usually with the best of intentions, simply because they are not familiar with the emotional healing process.

As we begin the twenty-first century, psychology as a whole has reached the point of being able to diagnose a client's problem and recommend appropriate medications, but it hasn't yet agreed on any definitive process for helping clients actually overcome their issues. Therefore many skilled psychotherapists are still recommending psychotropic medication and teaching people coping skills for how to live with what is currently assumed to be their life-long psychological issues, rather than giving their clients the tools they need to overcome those issues.

Since information about the emotional healing process has not yet been researched and documented, many clients are not told about the possibility of overcoming their emotional issues and living healthy, functioning lives. I find it very unfortunate that with all the knowledge and skills we have accumulated, many clients in every-day counseling situations are still not given clear direction for how to get from their painful, survival existence to a happy, functioning life.

Emotional healing, a natural process, occurs spontaneously when a person feels safe and supported in an open, healing environment. The doors that have been locked in a person's unconscious mind will open naturally and easily when he or she experiences the authentic compassion of an experienced professional. If a professional follows the natural healing process of a client's unconscious mind, that healing process will guide the client back to peace and happiness, much like the natural process of grief.

Clients in emotional pain need to hear from compassionate, experienced professionals that with patience and persistence it is absolutely possible to heal emotionally. People suffering pain also need to be given clear guidance and direction about what they can expect to experience on their emotional healing journey. Emotional healing is not always an easy road, but when a person overcomes the pain and creates a happy, fulfilling life, it is extremely rewarding!

I am not suggesting, of course, that professionals should never recommend psychotropic medication. Clearly there are times when medication is necessary. I like to think of psychotropic medication as a short-term help for clients who are suicidal or in severe crisis when used along with counseling or psychotherapy, while the client is learning the important skills needed for living without it. The problem with prescribing medication on a long-term basis is that anti-depressants have only been available for the past twenty years and anti-anxiety medications only a few years more. We have not yet had time to research the long-term effect of these medications on our physical health.

I believe that although anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medications are often a necessary tool to meet short-term psychological needs, taking high doses of medication to numb emotional pain on a long-term basis will never bring a person to that experience of inner peace, joy and fulfillment that they are seeking. Only a holistic approach that includes body, mind, and spirit will accomplish that goal.

Various Causes of Peptic Ulcer

Peptic ulcer is a disorder of the digestive system that causes inflammation and lesions in different regions of the gastrointestinal tract. The disorder involves erosion of the mucus-covered protective surface of either the stomach or the duodenum.

Most peptic ulcers occur on the premises of genetically inherited physiological abnormalities, such as: inappropriate production of mucus (a natural protective substance that surrounds the internal soft tissues and organs), inappropriate production of bicarbonate (a chemical that neutralizes the effects of digestive acids) and poor blood circulation at the level of the stomach.

The major cause of peptic ulcer is infection with a type of bacterium called Helicobacter pylori. Although there are various other factors that contribute to the development of peptic ulcer, the disorder generally occurs as a consequence of infection with Helicobacter pylori bacteria. These bacteria weaken the internal organs? protective walls, allowing gastric acids and pepsin to cause serious damage to soft tissues and organs.

Another cause of peptic ulcer is the stomach?s overproduction of digestive fluids. In normal amounts, gastric acid and pepsin have a very important role in the process of digestion. However, when the stomach secretes these substances in excess, they can cause ulcerations and lesions to the internal tissues and organs.

Research results indicate that smokers are exposed to a very high risk of developing peptic ulcers. Smoking increases the stomach?s production of digestive fluids, thus facilitating the occurrence of the disorder. Furthermore, smoking slows down the healing of existing peptic ulcers and increases the risk of complications. Similar to smoking, caffeine can also lead to an overproduction of pepsin and stomach acid, thus contributing to the occurrence of peptic ulcer.

The excessive consumption of alcohol also greatly contributes to the development of peptic ulcer. Statistics indicate that peptic ulcer is very common among people who suffer from cirrhosis, a disease associated with the abuse of alcohol.

Studies in the field have found that certain oral medications are also a potential cause of peptic ulcer. Commonly prescribed in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs have various side-effects at the level of the gastrointestinal system, and they greatly contribute to the occurrence of peptic ulcer. Ongoing treatments with aspirin, ibuprofen and naproxen interfere with the normal activity of the stomach in several different ways: they slow down the stomach?s production of mucus and bicarbonate; they stimulate an overproduction of pepsin and gastric acid; they perturb the blood circulation in the lining of the stomach.

Emotional stress also seems to affect the activity of stomach, increasing the risk of developing peptic ulcer. Although medical scientists haven?t established clear connections between emotional stress and peptic ulcer, it seems that people with emotional problems are commonly confronted with gastrointestinal disorders.

By contrast, physical stress has been confirmed to be a major cause of peptic ulcer. People who have acquired stomach injuries or people who have suffered surgical interventions are exposed to a high risk of developing peptic ulcer.

Chiropractic Software: A Growing Need

With the growth and high-demand of chiropractors nationwide, an increased need for managing the different aspects of the business has become apparent. Doctors and office management alike face the challenge of effectively streamlining the business process. Several types of software programs are available for chiropractic offices. Depending on the size and need of the particular practice, resources are widely available through searching the Internet. Despite the abundance of information on these software programs, office managers may find difficulty in choosing the program that is best suited for their needs.

Software is available for nearly every conceivable area of chiropractics and managing practices. Some programs allow doctors to quickly note and analyze information while treating patients. These types of programs are very beneficial in that they can save valuable time better spent treating patients. Other programs are available to assist office staff. Filing and retrieving medical records has become much more organized and easy to access. Rather than fiddling with thousands of records in a filing cabinet, with the touch of a button, office management can retrieve vital information on specific patients ? and in turn, relay that information to the doctor much more quickly and efficiently.

Although most practices understand the need for a high-quality software program, it may be a daunting and exhausting task to locate software for your specific needs. Some experts believe a crucial step in deciding on your software needs is to ask the office staff. Since your staff will utilize any office management software, it is important to find out what their needs may be. Have the staff come up with a list of what they would ideally like to have in a program. After a list is compiled, you should submit it to your software vendor to see what they can offer. Not only will this give you a good idea of what your practice desires, it will also give you insight to the capabilities of your vendor. Having a good vendor with knowledge of the software you need is a necessary step in streamlining your office management. The quality of support you get from your vendor can also influence the satisfaction you get from your new software.

Common Problems of Feet

Cold and Numb Feet

This problem occurs due to a lack of proper blood circulation. Numb and cold feet are the result of very limited or no activity, leading to blockage of one of the arteries which reduces blood circulation; moreover, the feet do not have enough fat to act as insulation. In such conditions keep your feet warm with proper socks and constant movements so that blood circulation is stimulated. Twitching your toes and changing the position of the feet also helps. In some cases rolling a round object on the floor with the soles of the feet also stimulates circulation and keeps the feet active. Apply an iodine ointment on chilblains. Soaking feet in hot water also increases circulation in the feet.

Corns

It is a cone shaped thickening of the outer skin layer. Corns are caused by friction and pressure from shoes that don't fit properly. An immediate treatment of a corn is to carefully shave off the rough upper skin with a plastic shaver, without causing bleeding and to use a corn plaster to soften the skin. Corn plasters are available at chemist shops. You can even use the paste of crushed garlic to ease painful corns.

CAUTION : A diabetic patient should not use a shaver; instead, get medical advice.

Callouses

Like corns, collouses are the thickened layer of the outer skin, which develop under the foot especially in the area between the big toe nails and base of the small toes. callouses should be rubbed with a pumice stone or shaven off with a plastic razor. You must apply an antiseptic lotion later, as a precaution. But don't try to treat any aggravated condition yourself. Have it checked by a physician or a chiropodist.

Heel Pain

Pain in the heels is generally very severe in the morning and diminishes during the day. It is caused by bursitis that can be relieved by injecting medicine in the heel. You can reduce pain in the heels by reducing pressure on it. You can wear softy padded heeled sandals to alleviate the pain.

Itching Feet

Athletes foot causes fungus, which leads to itchy feet, redness and blisters. Keep your feet dry and well powdered if you sweat too much because it is the moist area between the toes that creates these problems

Feet Eczema

Synthetics and plastic materials can cause feet eczema. Apply the juices of Tulsi leaves thrice a day for a fast cure. Stick to natural leather sandals and cotton socks. If it gets worse, get medical advice.

How To Find A Great Nursing Home Essay One

How do you know when it's time to find a nursing home for your loved one? This is the hardest and easiest of questions to answer or so it would seem. Let me explain. There are primarily two approaches to requiring nursing home care.

Approach Number One: A fall occurs and a hip is broken or the loved one may have had a stroke, a heart attack or pneumonia. These are examples of medical conditions that require hospitalization. Up until this point admission to a nursing home has never been considered. The hospital has finished caring for the immediate medical need and now you are contacted by the hospital discharge planner and told that your loved one will be discharged to a nursing home for rehabilation within a few days. They give you a list of nursing homes in your area and say good luck in your search.

If you are lucky, area nursing homes will have their admission coordinators visiting the hospitals daily to shop for residents. The nursing home admission coordinator will look at your loved one's medical file and determine if the care required and the estimated length of stay will fit the nursing home's patient mix. The nursing home wants to balance the needs of your loved one with the current demands of their residents both medically and for staff availability. The nursing home will also look at how the care will be paid for. Keep in mind that the nursing home can't discriminate aginist admitting your loved one based upon how the care will be paid for, whether it's Medicare, Medicaid, long-term care insurance, an HMO, private funds or other payment plans.

Nursing homes, like other businesses have bills to pay, not the least of which is payroll. So naturally they will look for the maximum reimbursement possible to care for your loved one.

Your challenge now becomes deciding which nursing home you will place your loved one in, within the time allocated by the hospital. Note that the reason the hospital is pushing you to transfer your loved one to a nursing home is money. The reimbursement for the care received is about to run out. Keep this in the back of your mind; the hospital will find it extremely difficult to force your loved one into a nursing home that you are not agreeable with or that is out of your neighborhood, at an unreasonable distance for you to travel.

The best way to avoid confrontation with the hospital is to have a discussion with the discharge planner about which nursing homes have the best reputation in the area and in which one the discharge planner would place their loved one. After you visit each facility talk with the discharge planner about your observations, how you were received and your likes and dislikes about the facility. As long as the hospital knows you are making a good faith effort to transfer your loved one to a nusing home they will be less likely to put pressure on you. You have enough pressure on you at this point. You don't want to go looking for more. Your primary goal is to find a great nursing home for your loved one.

The decision to admit your loved one to a nursing home has been made for you by an unexpected medical condition; that's the easy part. Whether the stay in the nursing home is short or long term the process of finding a great nursing home is the same, but in this case time is of the essence.

In the next essay Iwill dicuss approach number two; a planned admission to a nursing home.

Secrets of Meditation For Better Health

Meditation can improve your health, increase energy levels and maximize your enjoyment of life. Without a doubt, more people would benefit from meditation if they took the time to practice the simple exercises used to calm the mind, reduce stress and increase energy levels.

So What Is Meditation?

Meditation is a way to transform and heal ourselves. When we meditate, we allow the swirl of ideas and thoughts to slow down to the point where we find a calm and positive connection with ourselves. Although there are many different ways to meditate, all styles teach the directing of the attention in order to re-connect with the part of yourself that is most real and most true.

Why We Need To Meditate

Unfortunately, we do not walk through the world as children do. We all face difficult and stressful situations throughout the course of life. But rather than beginning each day afresh, we tend to gather the world and carry the negativity of the past with us. The happy and contented person you were becomes covered over by these emotions. Suddenly you feel unhappy and dissatisfied, and even worse; often the process is so subtle, you don?t know why.

Meditation is a way of cutting through those layers of past emotion and excessive thinking. Instead of our minds and bodies being at the mercy of life, we take back control. We focus the attention in a deliberate way, and slowly see the false layers of ourselves begin to dissolve as we return once again to the source of our happiness.

Although meditation is an ancient art dating back thousands of years, modern scientific research now confirms what ancient wisdom discovered long ago. Study after study shows that meditation brings about improved perception, focus, memory and creativity. Regular meditators are healthier, happier, more relaxed, and more productive.

The True Purpose of Meditation

The seductive appeal of mystic visions, psychic intuition and heightened mental functioning can be very alluring. While some meditators report esoteric experiences, the experiences themselves should not be the primary reason for practice.

The purpose of meditation is to transform the state of our hearts and minds and bring us back to ourselves. As we become healthier, happier and realize greater self-awareness, more benefits begin to follow naturally -- improved mental functioning, greater intuition as well as greater access to unconscious resources and abilities.

The Best Style of Meditation

Always keep an open mind in your learning. Never accept a teaching without verifying the truth of it in your own experience. On the other hand, reserve making judgment in advance of having the experience for yourself.

The best style of meditation is the one that feels right for you. There are many different systems of meditation including, but not limited to Concentration, Mindfulness, Zen, Visualization and Devotion. You may decide to experiment with a few different styles and see how they feel. Find one or two styles that you like and then major in those. Above all, pay attention to your self and make sure your meditation feels right for you.

Make Meditation A Daily Practice

You can be stronger in your self. You can be happier, more balanced and compassionate. You can manifest the changes you truly want to see in your life through meditation. You don?t need to give up all your worldly passions or retreat to a Himalayan monastery either!

A daily ten-minute practice can make all the difference. It?s not much time to dedicate when you consider all the time spent caring for your physical appearance. After all, you wouldn't go out to an important meeting or social occasion without clean clothes and brushing your teeth.

What about the mind and body -- the instruments through which we perceive and interact with reality? Does it not make sense to take the time to clean up our attitude and the way we feel as well?

The Mystery Of HGHWhat Is Human Growth Hormone?

Well, what is HGH really?

HGH is the acronym for Human Growth Hormone. It was discovered roughly a half century ago, but it wasn?t until sometime in the 1970s that researchers and scientists actually figured out the job of HGH in the human body. For those in-between years, HGH remained an enigma compound? Even though it had been isolated in the human body, it remained a mystery substance.

First of all...

HGH is a protein compound, produced exclusively in one portion of the pituitary gland. Even after researchers knew the basics that it?s a protein and where the human body produced it there was argument over the part it played in the body. When researchers figured out that HGH had an significant role in regular growth, the race was on to figure out what the role was and how it could be used to assist those who faced issues with growth.

In simpler terms...

It?s not a huge step between learning the role of HGH and using it as a treatment for kids who weren?t growing at a conventional rate. Increasing the quota of HGH for those children who otherwise may not have grown sufficiently to do the things normal adults do drive a car, for example became a way to positively effect the lives of those youngsters. But the early days of those treatments were restricted by researchers capacity to successfully duplicate the HGH compound.

Incidentally...

At first, HGH was first exclusively accessible by collecting the HGH compound from the pituitary glands of cadavers. Post extraction, the natural human growth hormone had to be processed and injection was the only way to introduce further HGH into a person who required it. This type of human growth hormone supplement treatment was costly, time exhausting and limited. Only medical professionals could determine who should receive HGH therapy, and the known benefits were limited.

One of the first things discovered about HGH is that it?s in the body of youthful children in abundance. As individuals got older, the HGH in their body decreased. While that sounds like a customary move in the course of aging, people soon thought to question whether increasing the amount of HGH in the body would be supportive also to older people.

Old as the hills?

HGH isn?t the only compound in the body that decreases as we age. You?ve probably heard of some of the other significant proteins that are plentiful in young people but less abundant as we age. Estrogen, progesterone and testosterone are amongst those compounds that are sometimes supplemented to help older people feel younger and healthier. The HGH protein compound is similarly beneficial as a dietary supplement.

But why would HGH be beneficial to an adult? After all, most adults are attempting to part with weight, not grow, right? Actually, HGH has been discovered to help other adult issues as well. Anti aging is one of the benefits of HGH in adults. It can also drive more energy and enhance stamina.

Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today..

HGH supplements and HGH products are now available as HGH dietary supplements, so that you can take an HGH releaser as part of your daily supplement regimen.

Steve Hill discusses human growth hormone supplements. Learn the facts before you decide which hgh products to buy. Read more no-bull human growth hormone articles and information at: hgh supplements and hgh human growth hormone

Causes and Treatment of Wrinkles

As people age, their epidermal cells become less sticky that makes skin noticeably thinner. When skin becomes thinner, the effectiveness of its barrier function decreases and releases moisture instead of locking it in the skin. When this happen, the skin is more prone to dryness and it is likely to lose its ability to repair itself.

When the dermal layer becomes thin, it produces less collagen and elastin fibers. These causes wrinkles and make skin sag.

Causes

Aside from the aging process, sun damage is also linked to wrinkle formation. When skin is exposed to sun for a long period of time, it can result to dryness and it can damage the collagen fibers that protects the skin. In addition, prolonged exposure to sun can cause skin disorder and cancer.

Other factors of wrinkle formation are the following: Poor nutrition, stress, sleep deprivation, excess alcohol or illegal drug consumption, and pollution.

Prevention

1. Prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause serious skin damage. Experts recommend the use of hat when on the beach especially between 12nn-2pm. Use of sunscreen and sunglasses is also helpful to avoid wrinkles that might appear around the eyes.

2. Smoking is dangerous to your health. And also to your skin. People who are smoking form wrinkles around their mouth earlier compare to non-smokers. To keep skin healthy, avoid cigarette and smoky places like bars and restaurants.

3. Avoid alcoholic beverages. Excessive alcohol consumption is bad for the skin. Alcohol prevents the body from absorbing vitamins needed to keep the skin healthy.

4. Drink at least 8-12 glasses of water everyday. Water helps in keeping the skin glowing and healthy. It is an effective element in reducing wrinkles, flushing toxins, fat, and other foreign substances out of the body.

5. Use olive oil as much as possible. It makes the skin soft and younger looking.

6. Eat tomatoes and vegetables. These contain nutrients that are proven to make the skin look younger. In addition, fruits, nuts, and beans are also good food for the skin.

7. Resist the urge to sunbathe. Experts agree that although tan makes men and women look sexier, it can pose threat to the skin. Try self-tanner instead. Never use tanning bed or sunlamp.

8. Pamper the skin once in a while by going to spa or sauna. Also, get 8 or more hours of sleep. These can do wonders on the skin in no time.

9. Use moisturizer twice everyday.

Treatment

Dermatologists are advising people who have few, shallow wrinkles to use moisturizing creams and sunscreen. However, more and more people are looking for more advance technology in erasing the signs of ageing.

Recently, dermatologists responded to people?s request for wrinkle treatment. Botox was introduced that soften wrinkles that are caused by grimacing or squinting. Hyaluronic or collagen acid are injected on the skin to elevate wrinkles.

Another breakthrough is laser treatment to minimize wrinkles. Most common laser treatment is called Carbon Dioxide laser that is designed for deeper wrinkles.

People who have deep, excessive wrinkles resort to face lift. It is a surgical procedure that is both invasive and expensive that produces excellent results.

Wrinkles cannot be avoided but they can be delayed. There is nothing more satisfying than looking younger than one?s age. So, just follow these tips and stay young!

Home Remedies for Bad Breath

The most obvious of the home remedies for bad breath (halitosis) is simply attending to excellent oral hygiene. Brush your teeth after eating so that the surfaces of your teeth are clean and not coated with food that bacteria like to eat. Floss regularly to remove pieces of food that have gotten caught between the teeth - the secluded spaces between the teeth are a favorite hiding place for the bacteria that produce volatile sulfur compounds (VSC), the worst of the smell producers in cases of halitosis. When you brush your teeth, brush your tongue too (not to hard; you don't want to make it sore) as many bacteria colonize the tongue. Have your teeth cleaned and your gum health checked regularly.

If you have an on-going problem , you might want to try some other home remedies for bad breath. The traditional ones include preparations that are aimed at killing the VSC producers and cleaning the mouth, and others that simply mask the odor on a temporary basis. Chronic bad breath home remedies require a commitment to using the remedy regularly on an ongoing basis.

Bad breath home remedies that mask the odor include chewing a peppermint leaf or a sprig of parsley, or holding a clove in your mouth. Chewing mint or cinnamon flavored chewing gum, eating sunflower seeds, rinsing with lemon juice and water, rinsing with salt water, and drinking hot tea are also recommended as home remedies for bad breath. Strategies for cleaning the mouth, probably better as chronic bad breath home remedies, include rinsing solutions made from hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and salt; just straight 3 percent hydrogen peroxide; or tiny amounts of Tea tree oil, an essential oil distilled from the leaves of the Australian Tea tree. These substances have some antibacterial properties - do not swallow them however: they are not meant to be taken internally.

A lot of scientific research remains to be done before we understand exactly how the bacterial population of the mouth works, even in healthy mouths. Home remedies for bad breath, therefore, don't have scientific data to back them up. We have to rely on the past experiences of others to judge whether any of the bad breath remedies are likely to work. In choosing chronic bad breath remedies, you might be better to choose a commercial product of some kind. Many of them do contain ingredients for which there is considerable scientific backing.

If you try several bad breath home remedies without success, consider consulting your doctor or dentist for a professional assessment of the problem.

The Landice Treadmill Mystery Solved

Moshi Moshi!

I had planned to do a detailed review of the Landice L7 Executive treadmill today, but Mrs. Sensei has laid down the law and I only have a few minutes to post a review on this fine July 4th holiday -- the DOJO itself is empty and all of the other senseis are off work and at home enjoying their families. Look for the full review tomorrow, but for today enjoy a quick rundown of the differences between the numerous models of Landice treadmills out on the market.

If you've spent time looking at Landice treadmills then you've probably noticed they have a large number of units available and the differences between them aren't always as obvious as they should be. Here is a guide to comparing the different models, full commercial and light commercial.

At each level (L7, L8 and L9), the only difference between a Pro Sports Trainer, a Cardio Trainer and an Executive trainer is going to be the console. The Landice Pro Sports Trainer Treadmill has the lowest end, basic display, and the Landice Executive treadmills have the highest end (really spiffy, if you ask me) displays. The difference in the consoles is very obvious upon viewing.

The differences of each Landice treadmill level (L7, L8 and L9) is going to be the size of the rollers and the length of the deck. The higher the number, the heaver and larger the rollers and the longer the treadmill deck.

The LTD versus the Club style is an easy one as well. LTD means the unit is light commercial and Club means the unit is full commercial -- meaning it is rated to run for a higher number of hours per week (full commercial usually means 100+ hours of use per week). The LTDs come in 110v and the Clubs in 220v or 110v. If you're using a Landice Club treadmill in your home, make sure to request 110v or you may not be able to run it properly.

And there you go, the mystery of the Landice treadmills is solved!

Massage Chair A Perfect Solution Against Moderate Pain

Massage chairs are nice to have if you feel the wear and tear of the daily grind. A massage chair might not benefit you as a pain reliever, but it can temporarily relieve your pain because they usually combine massage with heat. Heat is a temporary pain reliever.

Studies have shown that massage therapy could reduce lower back pain, depression and anxiety for certain people. It was also found that more people are seeking the help of massage therapy instead of going to a doctor for medication. Health professionals are even offering massage as a solution to some pain and relax the muscles to improve movement. The only thing is that massage is only for moderate pain, if you are in excruciating pain you should seek medical attention right away.

The reason why people are turning to massage chairs is because of the fact that is can be hard to find a good massage therapist and so the alternative is by using a massage chair. There are really only three major benefits of massage therapy. First, you will have improved blood circulation. By massaging the muscles, the blood flow will increase and that will help with circulation and absorption of nutrients into the blood, muscles, and tissues. Along with the increase in blood flow, massage also allows the body to release the toxins that are in the lymphatic system. Secondly, it will improve mobility and decrease your stress and tension levels.

A massage or massage chair will relax your muscles and because you?re not so tight, you will notice stress or pain go away. Lastly, massage chairs will allow the body to release endorphins that make you feel good. It will relieve you of your depression and make you feel ?high?, much like exercise. The release of endorphins will also help with your anxiety, reduce pain, and recover from any colds or illnesses.

Before you purchase your massage chair you want to do some of the following. You should seek the advice of a professional before buying a massage chair if you have any of the following: infectious skin disease, rash, unhealed wounds, had surgery, if you use blood thinners, have varicose veins, inflected or swollen injuries, damaged or bleeding tissue, recently had chemo or radiation therapy, or if you have osteoporosis.

The way a massage chair work is to recreate one of the two types or techniques known as Shiatsu or Swedish massage. Shiatsu is where pressure is added in sweeping, patting, or rotating movements. It is used to release tension and restore blood circulations. Swedish massage has long gliding strokes and kneading motions and is the technique is used to restore circulation and allow the entire body to relax and revive.

Look Slimmer Instantly Without Dieting!

Most women are conscious of their weight, so here are 10 tips to look slimmer without dieting, just being careful with your selection of clothes.

It is a fact, that people subconsciously form an opinion about whom they first meet within 30 seconds.

How people perceive you is therefore vital in deriving the maximum from both your life and career.

In today?s image conscious society, we all want to look our best and people look at your clothes before anything else by careful co ordination you can make yourself look slimmer to anyone?s eye.

Here are 10 easy tips to lose a few pounds quickly without a diet.

1. One color

Monochromatic dressing makes anyone look taller, slimmer as it does not break the bodyline up and presents a sleek outline

2. Use darker colors

It?s a fact that darker colors make you look slimmer than lighter colors do. Black is the most popular color and with good reason, it?s the best for making you look slimmer but other dark colors work well to

3. Intensity of color

If you are wearing multiple colors keep the intensity between them close. For example, dark blue and black or stone and white.

4. Wear darker colors on your bottom half

Darker color at the bottom of your body tend to make you look taller as your hips appear slimmer.

5. Wear heels

Wearing high heels with a thin sole instantly make your legs look longer and you as a consequence look slimmer.

Always wear a neutral color hose or match your hosiery to the lighter color in the shoes. Never wear hose that are darker than the lightest color in the shoes

6. Don?t bisect a fuller figure

Wear a longer jacket or blouse, and wear it un-tucked. This will give a slimmer look, and deflects attention away from the problem waistline area.

7. Don?t use heavy fabrics

Never wear clothes made out of heavy fabrics, they will always make you look fatter. Choose finer, silkier thin materials.

8. Wear clothes that fit

Always wear clothes that fit this may sound obvious but many women don?t. Don?t try and squeeze into a size 8 if you are a size 10. Accept the size they really are and don?t fool yourself.

19. Vertical design lines

Make you look slimmer. Single breasted jackets, stripes and creases in trousers will visually slim your body by dividing it up into vertical sections.

Keep in mind the closer the lines the slimmer your body will appear.

10. Wear clothes that balance the horizontal & vertical

You will always appear slimmer if you balance your vertical and horizontal proportions of your body type.

A woman who has long body and short legs can wear a short jacket; however, if she has a large breast her jacket should be at least hip length to deflect attention away from her breasts.

By wearing clothes that are in proportion to your body type you look slimmer instantly.

Today, many women consult professional image consultants who can advice on all the above and a lot more.

Not only can you slim your body, you can also slim your face and present an image to impress.

Tips for Good Health

If you want to feel good, real good, here?s what you should do.

1. Walk Tall. The most significant effort you can make to boost your morale is to let the world see a new, confident You. And the first step towards that is to walk talk and confident, strutting through life as if you know exactly where you?re headed.

2. Empower Yourself. There is no greater feeling of power than that which is endowed by knowledge. Identify the areas you would like to empower yourself and take a go at it. Is it Art? History? Politics? Economics? Science? Technology? What stops you from picking up books, surfing the Internet or even just asking questions?

3. Energize Yourself. When you breathe in, imagine you are breathing in all the goodness of the world, allowing your system to be nourished and refreshed by it. Having thus cleansed your system, when you breathe out, your emotional toxins are dispelled. Enjoy the new sense of power you feel!

Breathe in and say, ?I?m powerful,? breathe out and say, ?I?m beautiful.? Repeat this a number of times and you will feel a new rush of blood through your body.

4. Feel Good About Yourself. Learn to love yourself and the life you lead. Yes, it could be better and you can make it so. But if you don?t like how things are going, that is no reason to waste what you already have in hand in the hope of what you can make of it. Remember, a bird in hand is worth two in the bush! There will always be those extra kilos to shed, those qualities you wish your partner had, that car you wish to buy, or the house you wish to own

5. Get Fit. Being fit and healthy is the greatest energy and confidence booster you can give yourself. Instead of blaming yourself for not eating right and for binging on the wrong things, cultivate some positive addictions. Try going for a daily dose of exercise: be it a walk, a workout at the gym or just floor exercises at home.

6. Eat Judiciously. Rather than feeling dejected at the weight you keep putting on because of a junk food eating habit, develop the habit of eating healthy foods to keep yourself fit and slim. It is said that you can actually eat to remain slim by eating right. Experts opine that the process of chewing and digesting foods such as celery, mushrooms, broccoli and tomatoes, when not fried, actually makes you expend more calories than you take by eating them.

7. Remain Calm. This is indeed a rare quality and if you were to successfully cultivate it more than half of your life?s worries would be over. Stress and tension are the cause of more diseases than we know of. Fatigue and irritability are also caused by stress.

Manic Bipolar Depression Facts and Reality

Manic depression - Bipolar disorder, also known as manic-depressive illness, is a brain disorder that causes unusual shifts in a person's mood, energy, and ability to function.

Some mornings can start with overriding feelings of joy, elation and power. By the time the afternoon has arrived this can shift to feelings of desperation, despair and depression.

More than 2 million American adults, or about 1 percent of the population have bipolar disorder, the percentage figures are the same for the United Kingdom.

These figures are only an estimate, the true figures will probably never be accurately known, this is probably due the stigma attached to mental health issues and the signs and symptoms not being correctly spotted by friends, family, professionals and even the individual themselves. It is fair to say that manic depression is under diagnosed.

Signs and symptoms of mania (or a manic episode)

? Increased energy, activity, and restlessness
? Excessively high, overly good, euphoric mood
? Extreme irritability
? Racing thoughts and talking quickly, jumping from one idea to another
? Distractibility, lack off concentration
? Little sleep needed
? Unrealistic beliefs in one's abilities and powers
? Poor judgment
? Spending sprees
? A lasting period of behaviour that is different from usual
? Increased sexual drive
? Abuse of drugs, particularly cocaine, alcohol, and sleeping medications
? Provocative, intrusive, or aggressive behaviour
? Denial that anything is wrong

A manic episode is diagnosed if elevated mood occurs with three or more of the other symptoms most of the day, nearly every day, for 1 week or longer. If the mood is irritable, four additional symptoms must be present.

The above signs and symptoms of mania can be very difficult to spot in an individual who has manic depression as all of the EXACT symptoms and time frames may not be prevalent in every person as each individual is unique.

A good example of this would be a rapid cycle manic depressive who in the mornings is high and elated, followed by despair and depression in the afternoons. This rapid cycle could happen for 2 or 3 days then level off for a relative period of calm for a few days before it starts again.

Due to the stigma attached to mental health problems individuals may try and mask their symptoms to avoid any embarrassment they may feel. Thus making it even more difficult to spot and diagnose.

Some of these symptoms of mania may be the only symptoms that you see in a person who has manic depression, as they are easily passed of as having a ?larger than life personality?

Signs and symptoms of depression (or a depressive episode)

? feeling sad, anxious, or empty mood
? Feelings of hopelessness or pessimism
? Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, or helplessness
? Loss of interest or pleasure in activities once enjoyed, including sex
? Decreased energy, a feeling of fatigue or of being slowed down
? Difficulty concentrating, remembering, making decisions
? Restlessness or irritability
? Sleeping too much, or can't sleep
? Change in appetite and/or unintended weight loss or gain
? Chronic pain or other persistent bodily symptoms that are not caused by physical illness or injury
? Thoughts of death or suicide, or suicide attempts

A depressive episode is diagnosed if five or more of these symptoms last most of the day, nearly every day, for a period of 2 weeks or longer.

A manic depressive will definitely have 5 of these symptoms. This is truly the worst time for a manic depressive, this is where the most support and help is needed.

Again the diagnosis is not 100% correct, as some people will have rapid cycles, i.e. High and elated in the morning then desperation and depression in the afternoon, these symptoms may only last a few days; sometimes they last a few weeks and in some very bad cases months.

In some people however, symptoms of mania and depression may occur together in what some people are calling a? mixed bipolar state.?

Symptoms of a mixed state often include agitation, trouble sleeping, and significant change in appetite, psychosis, and suicidal thinking. A person may have a very sad, hopeless mood while at the same time feeling extremely energized.

So again this shows that manic depression or bipolar disorder is not as straight forward as highs and lows.

Diagnosis of manic depression - Bipolar Disorder

Like other mental illnesses, bipolar disorder cannot yet be identified physiologically?for example, through a blood test or a brain scan. Therefore, a diagnosis of bipolar disorder is made on the basis of symptoms, course of illness, and, when available, family history.

Treatment of Bipolar Depression

It is absolutely vital that the correct medication is administered once the diagnosis has taken place, as recent research has indicated that people with bipolar disorder are at risk of switching into mania or hypomania, or developing rapid cycling, during treatment with incorrect antidepressant medication.

Therefore, correct mood-stabilizing medications are generally required, alone or in combination with the correct antidepressants, to protect people with bipolar disorder from this switch.

Lithium and valproate are the most commonly used mood-stabilizing drugs today.

Side effects

As any person who is open about their Bipolar will tell you, all of these medications have side effects these can include:

?Weight gain
?Dependence on the medication
?Nausea
?Tremors
?Reduced sex drive or performance
?Anxiety
?Hair loss
?Movement problems
?Dry mouth
?Disturbed sleep

Alternative treatments

Herbal or natural supplements, such as St. John's wort (Hypericum perforatum), have not been well studied, and little is known about their effects on bipolar disorder. Before trying herbal or natural supplements, it is important to discuss them with your doctor.

There is evidence that St. John's wort can reduce the effectiveness of certain medications. In addition, like prescription antidepressants, St. John's wort may cause a switch into mania in some individuals with bipolar disorder, especially if no mood stabilizer is being taken.

Omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oil are being studied to determine their usefulness, alone and when added to conventional medications, for long-term treatment of bipolar disorder.

One such study was carried out by Dr Andrew Stoll over a four month period. The study was performed to examine whether omega 3 fatty acids also have mood stabilizing effects with people who have bipolar disorder. He found that the omega 3 fatty acid patient group had a significantly longer period of remission than the placebo group.

In addition, for nearly every other outcome measure, the omega3 fatty acid group performed better than the placebo group.

With almost no adverse side effects apart from a slight gastric upset. This was thought to be due to the large doses of fish oil administered.

The study was published in the archives of general psychiatry in May 1999. Since then far stronger Pharmaceutical grades of omega 3 fish oil have been developed and brought on to the world market so such large doses need not be taken.

Conclusion

Manic depression ? bipolar disorder is a condition that is often under diagnosed and in some cases very difficult to spot and treat correctly. A lot of people with this condition will try and mask either their true feelings and or symptoms due to the unfortunate stigma that is attached to mental health. Receiving the correct diagnosis, treatment and medication is vital if they are to stand any chance of trying to live a normal life. It is also crucial for friends and family to also try and understand this condition as it can help them come to terms with certain types of behaviour that are being displayed. As far as alternative remedies go, to date our best bet is very strong omega 3 fish oil as there are no side effects and it is the only remedy that?s had any kind of scientific study performed using people with our condition . It is also safe to run along side any form of medication apart from blood thinning medication.

Knock Out Your Cold in 24 Hours or Less

With the impending cold and flu season on the horizon, many of us will experience that all too familiar tingle in the back of our throat; whether or not you choose to do something about it though, is entirely up to you. Some of you may find yourself seeking relief through the use of over-the-counter medications, while others may employ the use of antibiotics (a big no-no). But as is the case with the vast majority of synthetic medications, they may offer one step forward in temporary relief, yet ultimately result with two steps back in your progression back to health. While it may be tempting to reach for immediate relief through the use of synthetic medications, you are only slowing your body?s natural immune response. Remember folks, our body is incredibly adept at overcoming health obstacles?provided you supply it with adequate means to do so.

A common misconception among many attempting to battle a common cold through alternative means, is the level of dosage necessary to invoke the proper response from your body. In contrast to synthetic medications, alternative and complementary medicines require a much different plan of attack. Quite literally, it is necessary to flood your body with a constant supply of nutrients in order to achieve the desired response. Many individuals assume, that by swallowing a couple of low-quality Echinacea capsules and eating a bowl of chicken soup that their body will miraculously return to health. This is an incorrect assumption. Lacking the desired results from such an ineffective approach is quite common, and by no means should equate to a lack of faith in alternative medicine.

The method I will share with you is virtually guaranteed to knock out your oncoming cold in less than 24 hours. That?s right, I said 24 hours. However, keep in mind that this method is not for everyone. If you do not follow the regimen 100%, do not expect 100% success. If there is one thing that is frustrating, it is when someone attempts to discredit a natural remedy when only a half-cocked effort was made.

Step One:
Take 1 ounce of ?Super Tonic? (recipe below) combined with 4 dropperfulls of Echinacea every two hours. Combine the formulas in a shot glass, gargle with it for few seconds, and then swallow. Some people may not be accustomed to the intense taste of Super Tonic, but in the end it will all be worth it, I promise. If the taste is too much for you too handle, you can combine the recipe with 1-2 ounces fruit juice.

**Super Tonic Recipe: Ideally, this would be prepared ahead of time so that the apple cider vinegar would have adequate time to pull out the botanical properties of the ingredients. However, while advanced preparation is the most effective choice, you may also liquefy the ingredients in a blender and then strain the formula through 2-3 layers of cheese cloth if you have not planned ahead.

  • Take 1 part - Fresh chopped organic garlic cloves, 1 part ? fresh organic chopped onions (hottest available - similar to garlic), 1 part - fresh grated organic ginger root, 1 part - fresh grated organic horseradish root, and 1 part - fresh chopped organic cayenne peppers. Note: Part equals volume, not weight in this tincture method. Use a blender to chop up each of the ingredients until they are very fine!

  • Find a glass jar large enough and fill it ? full with these ingredients.

  • Fill the glass jar to the top with raw unfiltered organic apple cider vinegar (We use Bragg's)

  • Let it sit at least (15-16 Days) or (28-29 Days ? for optimal strength).

  • Shake it as many times during the day as possible.

  • Strain this Mixture through an unbleached coffee filter or four layers of cheese cloth if you have it.

Step Two
Do not eat solid or heavy foods. Instead, drink 2-3 liters of fresh, organic vegetable juices over the course of the day. Because you will want to get as much rest as possible, and to make it a bit more convenient, you can juice the entire 2-3 liters at one time and store it in the refrigerator for later use that day. However, make sure that when you bottle the remaining juice, leave as little air as possible in the top of the bottle to avoid unnecessary oxidation, as oxidation can damage the delicate nutrients and phytochemicals which are essential to your recovery. Juice vegetables such as kale, carrots, parsley, cilantro, red cabbage, fennel, celery, beets, and for a bit of sweetness you can add an apple or two.

For those of you who do not own a juicer, simply limit your intake for the day to fresh, organic fruits and vegetables. The purpose of this (and juicing) is to give your body the necessary nutrition it needs to build a powerful immune system, while simultaneously placing a minimal load on your digestive system. Digestion of solid foods (especially meats and carbohydrates) requires a lot of energy from your body. Your body is already working overtime to fight off your cold, so by avoiding solid foods, you can provide all the necessary energy required to fight off intruders.

Also, some of you might be tempted to substitute store-bought vegetable juices for your own homemade fresh juices. This is not the same. Store bought juices are pasteurized (heated to high temperatures) which destroys the bulk of the nutritional value they were aimed to provide.

Hemorrhoids Symptoms And Treatment

Hemorrhoids are actually varicose veins in the anus and rectum. They occur when blood vessels that are either inside the anus or around it become swollen. The more swollen they become, the more painful they are. Hemorrhoids may cause bleeding, and their constant irritation could lead to itching. However, most often itching is a sign of pinworms or an overgrowth of Candida albicans.

The following can cause hemorrhoids: constipation, chronic diarrhea, straining when you go to the bathroom, and any pressure that contributes to congestion in veins in that area (like coughing, sneezing, or sitting or standing for long periods of time). But let's face it, if you have strong blood vessels, sneezing and sitting won't give you hemorrhoids.

Traditional Hemorrhoids Treatment:

The first step in most doctors' approach to treating hemorrhoids is to suggest a high-fiber diet and bulking agents, such as Metamucil. Next, they typically suggest taking laxatives for constipation. The problem is that some of the herbs used in laxative formulas, such as senna leaf, are harsh and irritating. Instead, eat a higher fiber diet and take ground flaxseed if your intestines need a little help.

Daily sitz baths can reduce inflammation. Get a large plastic basin and put it in your bathtub. Put two to three inches of hot water (110-120 degrees) in the basin and sit in it for about 20 minutes. If possible, add some hotter water in the tub so your feet are warmer than your bottom. Bring a cold washcloth with you so you don't get too warm. Afterward, take a cool shower or splash the area with cool water and gently dry well.

Topical anti-inflammatory suppositories (such as Anusol and Preparation H) may give temporary relief. But they don't address the problem like some herbal formulas.

Ligation is a more drastic therapy where your doctor ties a small rubber band tightly at the base of an external hemorrhoid. This cuts off circulation and the hemorrhoid falls off. Sometimes, it's necessary to repeat this treatment.

Finally, surgery may be an option if your hemorrhoids are particularly large or painful, or if bleeding won't stop. If you and your doctor think you have time to try other therapies, I have some safe suggestions.

An Integrative Approach To Healing Hemorrhoids:

Improve your sitz baths by adding a cup of strong anti-inflammatory chamomile or comfrey tea to the water. If you have spasms, try adding a dropper of valerian root tincture.

Two citrus bioflavonoids, diosmin and hesperidins, accelerated healing and reduced pain in a French study of 120 people with hemorrhoids. A high amount of hesperidins is in the Hot Flash Formula I helped create (800-728-2288). If you have both hot flashes and hemorrhoids, this formula would be ideal. It won't hurt you if you don't have hot flashes. Or take 1,000 mg of mixed bioflavonoids along with 500 mg or more of vitamin C.

Horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) is an herb I've talked about before. It, and all other herbs suggested for hemorrhoids, are approved by the American Botanical Council's Expanded Commission E Monographs for safety and efficacy. The ABC suggests a standardized extract containing 20 mg escin, its active ingredient. Horse chestnut is often combined with other herbs that improve circulation, such as bilberry and gingko. Dose: Use according to label instructions.

Butcher's broom (Ruseus aculeatus) is used for fragile veins and varicose veins, as well as acute attacks of hemorrhoids. It can both reduce pain and treat the source of the problem. Butcher's broom is approved for the itching and burning from hemorrhoids. Dose: 7-11 mg of ruscogenin a day.

Witch hazel leaf (Hamamelis virginiana: This astringent herb has been approved both for inflammation and for hemorrhoids. You can use witch hazel both internally and topically. Drink an herb tea made from its bark and leaves two or three times a day between meals. Or apply an ointment or salve that contains witch hazel.

If You're Not Born With It You Can Just Buy It!

Ring!

Customer Service Center: Hello, Thank you for calling the Get Beautiful Shop. What can I get for you today?

Customer: Hello, I would like to order a beautiful long, full hair style, slimmer thighs, higher cheekbones, a tummy tuck and a little liposuction please. Oh, and don?t forget the face lift, I hear it is on sale!

Nowadays, natural beauty can be purchased and in most cases, no one will know the difference. In the example of the beautiful long, full hair style, modern day human hair extensions offer the utmost beautiful hair for just about anyone that wants longer, fuller or highlighted hair.

Dino Dondiego, founder of Sequence Hair in Englewood, New Jersey, has developed a new technique for adding hair for length and volume. Dondiego has been working with hair extensions for over 3 decades and has attached them using just about every method available on the market. He categorizes current methods of adding hair into three different areas, weaving, extensions and hair systems.

The first area is weaving, where a track is made horizontally with the natural hair (created by braiding the natural hair) and the human hair is sewn into the track in wefts or individual hair. (A weft is a tiny little curtain of hair that is attached together at the top) This method was derived from African American salons in the U.S. that use to corn braid the hair and sew wefts into the braids. Dondiego says there are limitations with this method because the weft that is sewn in can be hard to hide and the client cannot wear his/her hair in certain ways and there can also be a build up of hair care products and dirt in the tracks. Removal of the wefts can also pull out the natural hair.

The second area is extensions. This method was also derived from African American salons that started braiding individual human hairs into the clients braided hair. Extensions offer a more natural, free-flowing look and have become widely accepted as a way to add length, volume and highlights to your hair. Dondiego saw limitations to many extension methods. Many methods advertise strand by strand hair extensions, when in reality they are attaching chunks of hair at a time, causing undue stress on the natural hair and also creating an unnatural look. Other methods use adhesive materials that can damage the natural hair.

The third area is the hair system. These systems consist of hair pieces that are sewn or bonded to the scalp. Some can include nets that the natural hair is pulled thru to blend in with the human hair attached to the net. Limitations to these integrated hair systems are that you will need a lot of hair to hide the nets.

As Dondiego worked with each method, realized the limitations, he decided to reverse engineer the way human hair grows out of the scalp. He determined that the most logical way to add hair would be to mimic the way human hair grows, randomly and one at a time. However, it is unfeasible to have a client sit in a chair while one human hair is added in a random pattern. This would take a very long time to finish.

Dondiego developed a technique called Hair Blending? that allows him to add one human hair at a time in a random fashion. Hair Blending? involves the use a special filament string, called a Sequence Blending Strand? that has the same thickness of one human hair, but is much stronger than human hair. The blending strands are transparent and blend into the tone of hair and skin. They are hard to see with the naked eye. Human hairs are attached by hand, one at a time to the Sequence Blending Strand? with a specially designed instrument that has a fine hook on the end.

When a client first comes to the Sequence Hair offices in New Jersey, Dondiego determines exactly how much hair will be needed for the client. Color and texture of the hair is also determined. Then the client must wait for 6 weeks while his/her Sequence Blending Strands are custom designed.

After completion, the customized Sequence Blending Strands are attached to the clients? natural hair using a linking system. Each Sequence Blending Strand? is wrapped around 5 or 6 strands of the natural hair and secured with a tiny little anchor the size of a pin head. It sort of looks like tiny little pony tails. The blending strands are very fine and light, leaving the scalp open to breathe. It can take between 3-4 hours to blend in a full head of hair.

Clients must return every month or so (depending on how fast their hair grows) to have the hair re-secured. The Hair Blending Strands do not need to be removed. The system can last between 3-4 years.

Dondiego concludes that Hair Blending is one of the safest ways to add hair since it leaves the scalp open to breath and does not add too much stress to the natural hair. He adds that, ?No method is 100% safe and anyone that adds hair must take proper care of it. Because the more hair you have the more work you need.?

Weight Training for Women Exercise and Workout!

Weight training has a lot to say for itself and should be adopted as a part of one's daily life, at home and while working around the house. Weight bearing exercises not only retain muscular strength but also delay the loss of muscle mass and bone density as well.

. Biceps Curls: Stand with feet apart. Carry dumbbells or two water bottles(one in each hand). Flex the elbow, lift the water bottle or dumbbell towards the shoulder and bring it back to the starting point without locking the elbow. Exhale as you take the arm up and inhale when you bring the arm down. Repeat it 16-24 times. This exercise will strengthen the muscles of the arm.

. Shoulder Press: Standing in the same position, take both arms overhead taking the weights towards the ceiling. Bring the arms back to the shoulder level. Repeat it 16-24 times. This exercise will strengthen the shoulders.

. Squats: Standing in the same position, place the water bottle or dumbbell on the shoulder. Lower the hips toward the floor making sure that the hips are pushed back, like you are trying to sit on a chair. Repeat it 16-24 times. This exercise will strengthen all the muscles in the lower body.

Random Tip: Weight train at home using stability ball is an effective and cheap way to exercise.

Muscular soreness port-exercises is the bane of some of the women. Women just hate to be sore the day after a workout. Weight Training effects muscles in a positive way but it does result in DOMS or a delayed onset of muscular soreness. this is a natural physiological response to weight training and goes away the day after.

Madonna's Fitness Mantra-

. Practice ashtanga yoga for four days a week.

. Goes for a twice-weekly pilates session. Gets hooked to Gyrotonics machine, which helps to strengthen and stretch the muscles.

. For burning calories, runs with her minders and cycles around town, which keeps her bottom and thighs trim.

. Uses a Stairmaster and a powerplate.

. Active lifestyle.

. Eats healthy- whole grains, seasonal eatings, nonbioengineered food.

As one ages, the muscle mass starts reducing in size and strength as does the density of bones.

Post menopausal women get tired very fast and cant cope with day-to-day activities as easily as they could in younger years. These women are also plagued with inexplicable pain in the joints or the back. Weight bearing exercises are a boon for women of this age.

Random Fact: Weight training helps in more ways than one. It makes you stronger and slimmer without making you look like a wrestler.

Chairs Posture and the Alexander Technique

As a teacher of the Alexander Technique(1), I am frequently asked about chairs by my students, and about which designs are best. Some have been given very expensive, ergonomically-designed chairs at work and wonder if they are actually any better than ordinary ones. Others complain about their car seats, or about the curved plastic chairs often found in waiting rooms and in many airport lounges.

It is certainly true that some chairs are a lot more comfortable than others, and that some chairs make it easier to have a healthier upright posture. But even if you could find the ?perfect chair?, you could hardly carry it around with you all day long. Sooner or later, you would be confronted with a choice between standing or sitting in a less than desirable chair.

From an Alexander Technique perspective, looking for the ?perfect chair? is an exercise in futility. It is our body that sits in a chair, and if we want to improve our comfort and health, our primary attention must be directed at improving our own functioning - that is, what we do with our own body when we sit.

It?s a sort of ?bad news, good news? situation: The bad news is that we can?t blame our aches and pains on our furniture. As the cartoon character Pogo once remarked, ?We have met the enemy and they is us!? The good news is that we have it within our power to change the way we sit and, in fact, we can learn how to sit well in virtually any situation that presents itself to us.

The Ergonomics.org website at http://www.ergonomics.org explores the relationship between the science of ergonomics and the benefits of Alexander Technique training.

How to Improve Care Management Decision Making

Companies and individuals who are concerned about making sure that their members and patients get the proper healthcare are increasingly looking to independent review organizations to help them make crucial decisions about the allocation of healthcare resources according to the highest level of need.

Independent review organizations can help this process by providing for a systematic review of all complex and costly medical claims to determine whether or not the treatments that have been prescribed are medically necessary, are appropriate, and are aligned with the accepted standards of care. Independent review organizations are playing an increasingly important role in containing escalating healthcare costs by assuring that health care resources are only allocated to those patients and members who actually deserve them. Independent review organizations provide a key balancing force between payers and patients to assure that patients get the healthcare that they are supposed to every time. At the same time, an IRO assures that no unnecessary treatments are authorized are burdening and adding costs to the health care system in general. An independent review organization provides a critical look at the nexus of the health care decision-making chain in order to improve the delivery of healthcare to all members and patients in a health plan.

Emotional Overeating And Weight Gain

If you are eating every time you feel angry, sad, lonely or frustrated then the question should not be what are you eating? but rather what is eating you?

Repressed emotions are the number one reason why individuals resort to overeating.

This is very common in women who rarely have the opportunity to express their emotions. Women who are angry are perceived as bitches, women who are sad are depressed, women who are lonely are too needy and women who are frustrated are not nurturers.

Society puts a lot of pressure on women to not fulfill these many stereotypes and the result is a lot of females resorting to binge eating and other behaviors in order to help them repress those emotions.

Overeating provides comfort, is an act of defiance and is something that the woman can control. This repression of the emotions by eating too much is officially known is psychology circles as stuffing your anger.

The irony of overeating to combat hostility is that very few women enjoy it while they are doing it. No matter what negative emotion you are feeling, the eating is also a distraction from the real cause of the anger.

In fact many women feel so guilty about breaking their diet or healthy promises to themselves that the anger that was formerly focused on a lover, child or a boss is turned inward causing problems with self-esteem.

Many overeaters don't even notice the taste of the food they are eating. The worst-case scenarios binge and purge and develop dangerous disorders such as bulimia and anorexia.

There is a whole category of emotional overeaters that specifically crave sugar when they are in an uncomfortable emotional state. Sugar raises levels of serotonin, a feel good brain chemical and is a quick fix for anxiety or depression.

The problem is that this quick fix only lasts so long before the emotional overeater experiences a crash and feels worse then ever. This then compels the person to eat even more empty calories in the form of sugar in an attempt to self medicate their moods.

Sometimes an antidepressant can help an individual get over this type of disorder so talk to your doctor if you think you are motivated to eat too much because of depression or anxiety.

Professional psychotherapy, stress management and more exercise are recommended for over eaters who want to stop stuffing down their anger. Addressing the deeper underlying emotional issues and triggers (people, situations and things) that you cause you to gorge yourself in the first place is the first step.

In psychotherapy you will be asked to recognize that your life will never be free of problems and dealing rationally with those problems, as opposed to emotionally is part of being an adult. You will be asked to stop believing that eating out of defiance actually shows your enemies a thing or two.

It is usually the emotionally insecure women that resorts to overeating simply because she has always depended on others to create a happy life rather than herself.

Learning not to sweat the small stuff and to recognize that your feelings are not necessarily a reflection of the reality of a situation can also give you the maturity you need to break a weakness of character such as emotional overeating.

Bigger Body Muscle Bars...

Here is how to eat your way top massive gains...

Commercial Calorie bars are not new and they are not cheap, a good bar will cost you $2-$3 dollars a bar and I personally don't think they are worth the money? for that kind of investment I would purchase a good and proven weight gainer

But for those of us who want mass, and are always looking at the mirror to see gains I have a great solution...Make your own MUSCLE BARS.

Before I go on, I want to state some rather obvious facts: FACT NUMBER ONE - if you want to gain mass at an accelerated pace...EAT FAT! Yes don't avoid fat, fat is essential in the mass gaining process, dietary fats play a essential role in muscle building hormone production which ARE the Keys to outstanding muscle growth.

I have never known any one to gain mass on a low fat diet, it just will Not happen and let me tell you, if you are getting fat on a high calorie diet, I would not accuse your fat intake, no! Rather I would accuse the simple sugars in your diet. Also a low fat diet will lower your testosterone levels, something you want to avoid when you are trying to gain weight...

also you should Know that it is far easier to lose weight or fat if you first gain muscle mass(with some fat)first then try to lose the fat before trying to build muscle mass?this is true even if you are obese

my overweight clients, I first get the to build muscle before trying to lose fat...it way easier since muscle tends to increase your metabolism on a permanent basis, making you a fat burning machine. However not all fats are created equal, you want to avoid the saturated kind (as found in animals) and consume The essential fatty acids...EFA's fats are energy and your body will burn it if you train correctly as espoused in the fastmuscles growth system...http://www.fastmuscles.com

The recipe that follows is simple to make and it will provide you with several days? worth of weight gain dense snacks... The next time you are heading out to your workouts; consume one of these babies and watch the energy boost. And you will not have to resort to the use of candy bars or some unhealthy snack

1/2 cup butter
1 cup apple juice concentrates (the frozen kind)
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 whole eggs
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup raw wheat germ
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup sunflower seeds
1 cup pecans
1 cup raisins
1 cup chopped dates

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees; blend the butter, eggs, apple juice And vanilla together, sift together with flour, wheat germ, baking soda and baking powder then add them to mixture. Add the rest of the ingredients, mix well and press into an oblong glass pan than you have buttered and floured, now bake until the top is golden brown-about 30 minutes, refrigerate to keep fresh You will get 12 bars out of these and each one gives you 561 calories 30 grams of fat, carbohydrates 51 grams, 12 grams of protein... And cost you less than a dollar each.... If you want to increase the portion value, include two scoops of massive growth

Hope you enjoyed this article...

Chronic Halitosis

Bad breath that continues for a long period of time is often referred to as chronic halitosis. It's a condition that has been around for a very long time, but it is only in last century that we have started to may much attention to it, and only in the last decade that we have made any real progress in finding ways to deal with the problem. Essentially, it has been viewed as an issue of personal hygiene, rather than a health problem, and health professions, therefore, have not addressed it.

Perceptions of chronic halitosis have changed. A few health professionals - dentists, dental hygienists, physicians, and microbiologists - realized that bad breath was a problem faced by a lot of people, and that it was often caused by factors beyond the individual's control. The need for a specialized area of research and treatment soon led to the development of the first halitosis clinic. These clinics draw in people who have suffered from bad breath and fruitlessly sought a solution, giving specialists a population of patients that help them learn more about the condition and how it can be managed.

The halitosis clinic may be the driving force behind its own demise: experience has indeed provided a great deal of knowledge about how to cure chronic halitosis and many sufferers can now benefit from this acquired knowledge without having to attend a clinic. New products are on the market and oral hygiene regimens that work have been identified. Since the vast majority of chronic halitosis cases are caused by the same thing (the proliferation of anaerobic bacteria in the mouth), most cases can now be self-treated or addressed in the dental office. The remainder of cases, associated with underlying disease, will probably come under the management of other specialties.

So what have we learned from the halitosis clinic? Most cases of long term bad breath are caused by a shift in the bacterial population in the mouth towards anaerobic species that produce sulfur compounds. As for how to cure chronic halitosis, it begins with good oral hygiene, including regular cleaning of the tongue, and includes cleansing the mouth with a mouthwash that will kill or remove many of the unwanted bacteria and restore the bacterial population to a normal balance. For some people, there may indeed be a cure, with the bacterial balance maintaining itself after a treatment period of months to years. For many, the treatment regimen will have to be a lifetime commitment.

Get Rid of Acne With a 7 Step Plan

Whether you've just begun your research on how to get clear skin, or you?ve already been through several treatments, this simple plan can help you at any stage.

The 7 Step Acne Plan is based on the habits of long-time acne sufferers who are now acne free, as well as on practical advice from dermatologists.

Let?s get started!

STEP 1: Understand the True Enemy. It Isn?t Acne!

Acne is a symptom of a problem. It is not the root.

The first thing you need to do is determine your type of acne and understand your own body.

Some questions you should ask yourself include:
?Do you have mild, moderate or severe acne?
?How well do you take care of your skin? (cleansing routine or squeezing pimples, etc.)
?What is your acne treatment history?
?Are you currently taking any prescriptions or medications for other conditions?
?Do you get enough sleep and eat a healthy diet? Do you get exercise?
?Where do you work and how clean is the environment?
?Does anyone else in your family have acne?

STEP 2: Do Your Research

Educate yourself. Knowledge is power. This is the information age, and learning how to get clear skin is easily within your grasp. Doing your research on available acne treatments is critical.

STEP 3: Assess Your List of Options

Assess your list of possible treatments to rid acne: Talk to the appropriate specialist of your choice and assess your list with their help.

Assess your comfort level with each treatment: Consider the possible side effects, benefits, time expected to work, money, other products, routine, and effort required.

Finally, choose the treatment you are most comfortable with: Now you?ve made a decision on what you want to try ? either on your own or with the help of a specialist.

STEP 4: Design Your Experiment

Now it?s time to decide on your plan of action to rid acne for good. This is directed by your environment, your schedule, the amount of time and effort you are willing and able to put in, and the type of acne you have.

You need to determine an active ingredient (?variable?) to test while keeping the other conditions (?controls?) the same.

Decide on your controls and record them. What will you be keeping the same? Your cleanser? Your exercise routine? The application frequency of your acne treatment?

Decide on your exact regimen/routine. Introduce ONLY 1 variable at a time. Next, set a time limit. Allow this sufficient time to show improvement before introducing the next change.

STEP 5: Keep a Journal or Skin Log

Keep a journal or diary.

Record what what worked, what didn?t, environmental or emotional factors, your diet, your skin-cleansing routine, and lifestyle habits and any changes that may have occurred (positive or negative).

Make it fun! And enlist support. Have someone take pictures of you once a week. Make it a habit to record your daily lifestyle and acne condition so you can pinpoint any correlations or trends.

STEP 6: Monitor Your Regimen!

Monitor your progress and change it if you see it?s not working. Trial and error is important! Make note of the main active ingredients that your skin reacts to.

Know the time it takes for results to show. Make sure you find out an expected time frame your treatment should work within for your type of acne. Every treatment is different.

Don?t be disappointed by failure. It is only by failure that you can begin the process of elimination.

STEP 7: Stick with Your Strategy!

Acne is an ongoing battle. If you have moderate to severe acne, do NOT expect to rid acne overnight or even see a change within 1 week. Just like science, answers on how to get clear skin can only be found by trial and error. And the more consistent your method, the faster and easier it will be to find your treatment to rid acne.

Healthy Habits Last a Lifetime

Starting a family fitness routine is a great way to set up your kids with a lifetime love of fitness and exercise, not to mention that it?s good for your health and waistline as well. Although most of us know the importance of exercise and physical fitness, life often gets in the way and exercise is often the last thing on your mind.

However, it doesn?t have to be difficult to get your family up and moving. Here are a few tips and ideas to help you start your family fitness routine.

If you have young children often visiting the local playground is enough to get them active and moving. Activities such as monkey bars and playing tag develop a child?s strength, speed and agility; things like biking and rollerblading are great aerobic exercises. Parents may also want to consider a ?Mommy and Me? class to get the two of you moving together ? and provide some bonding time as well!

As your child ages and becomes a teenager, the tendency to be even more sedentary exists. Encourage your child to participate in team sports, but allow him or her to choose what activities to participate in. If your teen is self-conscious about participating in team sports, encourage them to work out with exercise videos. Parents may also want to make rules about how many hours per day their children can watch television, use the computer, or play video games.

Parents also need to be aware that your children will follow your lead. Try making small changes to your own routine like taking the stairs at work instead of the elevator, or getting outside on your lunch hour and taking a brisk walk. At home, plan activities that the entire family can do together instead of sitting in front of the television.

Family activities don?t have to be limited to conventional team sports like basketball or football: expand your horizons! Try things like soccer, going for a hike, or rollerblading. Consider having a family ?game night? and play a game of Twister! Games like ?Capture the Flag? or ?Duck, Duck, Goose!? are fun and easy to involve the kids in. Don?t be afraid of acting silly Mom!

Get up, get moving, get outside and have fun with your kids! Not only will you be teaching them powerful lessons about the importance of physical activity, you?ll reap health benefits yourself, and strengthen your bonds with your kids.
